Lynda was born in Nampa, Idaho and raised in the suburbs west of Portland, Oregon. She attended high school in Hillsboro, Oregon and from there, studied Dental Hygiene at the University of Oregon Dental School in Portland.
After working 10 years as a Dental Hygienist in Portland, she decided, with the encouragement of her husband, to pursue her first career choice, Interior Design. So, back to school part-time, then working for others for experience, Lynda was then happily self-employed as an independent designer for many years.
When her husband Phil decided to retire they began wintering in the California desert. With semi-retirement came new avocations. Golf is great fun and something Lynda and Phil enjoy together, but painting has now become her passion. She started taking classes with Luce Felts of Palm Desert, CA in the winter of 2000 and workshops and classes with other artists such as Jim Wilcox of Jackson, Wyoming, portrait artist Raphael Maniago, Carolyne Hawley and others. Painting more in the winter during their time in the desert, her skills improved and her love of painting continues to grow. She still plays golf, but she would now rather pick up a brush than a club and her handicap shows it.
Lynda paints in oil on fine art canvas. She paints from her photographs, mostly from their travels. She sells her work directly to clients and is happy to have her work enjoyed in homes in cities such as Vail, Rancho Santa Fe, Indian Wells, St. Helena, Portland, Lake Oswego and Sacramento. In addition to original oils, she offers giclée prints on fine art canvas which can be ordered in various sizes. Fine art note cards are also available of some of her paintings as well.
